How to Pray

Here is a guide on how to pray for 30 minutes a day during the God Can prayer week.

For the first 10 minutes pray for…

  • Christians to repent of known, hidden, and/or habitual sin.
  • Christians to fervently engage God in extraordinary prayer during this week and moving forward.
  • Christians to be awakened to the power of the gospel and the centrality of the gospel to the Christian life.
  • Christians to have a deep desire to know God’s Word and obey God’s Word.
  • Christians to be salt and light in the culture.
  • God to send revival, refreshing, and a fresh outpouring of His Spirit to His people.
  • God to remind Christians that time is short and eternity is long.
  • God to burden Christians over the lost and for making disciples of the nations.

For the next 10 minutes, pray for…

  • God to expose and remove the idols of our lives. Ask God, “Is there anything in my life that is taking Your rightful place?” If so, confess it to God and ask Him to prioritize your life according to His design.
  • God to break down barriers to the gospel (addictions, lies, strongholds, fear, apathy, broken relationships, selfishness, greed, hatred, division, unhealthy traditions, etc.).
  • God to help us see, celebrate, and praise Him for the spiritual breakthroughs He is accomplishing around us.
  • The church to become known as a place where hurting people can come, where burdens are released, and where breakthroughs can happen.
